We’ve always had our own business and not had to rely on anyone (like committees) to catch up or get on board before we took action on daily tasks that move the needle forward.

When we got plugged in here, several of our neighbor friends commented that we tend to take action and move onto the next thing and the next thing and the next thing.

We’re just do-ers, because as we know, that’s how business owners and entrepreneurs have to function most of the time, so it just becomes habit.

In this situation, it can be good or bad, but in your business it’s nearly always good.

I’m encouraging you to us a kind of “NEXT” approach.

Let’s define real quick:

I love this example definition… occurring directly in time after the present or most recent one.

There’s something about being ready for the next task, or thing, or event, or decision, that makes the current task or thing or event or decision a little easier.

Decision making is something I talk about a ton, this “next” mentality is a giant help in making your decisions.

Sometimes just making a decision and taking the next step is the only way to know if you’ve made the right decision.

Or opposite of that, taking the next step will help you know if you need to go back and tweak something.

In this fast paced world we live in, if you’re not taking the next step, it’s like you’re moving backward.

This is not saying you’re blasting through without thinking, you’re still weighing out your options, you’re just always moving it forward too.

Think about it in a way of small tasks just to get started.

If you have something that has you stuck and spoiler alert, we all do, set a timer for 10 minutes, deal with that thing, then say to yourself “NEXT!” and move on from it!

OR… if something negative happens, like let’s say a less than stellar review comes through, having this “NEXT” mentality, somehow makes these sting a little less and helps you get past it way faster and easier.

We’re not dwelling on things, we’re powerhouse entrepreneurs who have things to do!

Hot tip: Grab a piece of paper, post it, index card, screensaver for your phone, whatever works for you, and put the word NEXT on it!

Have it where you can see it every day and say it to yourself and really implement it.
