The Wedding Pro Show
Episode 71: Collaborate... & We Were on a Break!
I’m going to be on vacation for the next few weeks, so I thought it would be perfect timing to do a little collaborating with some of my business friends.
As soon as I get back from vacation, I leave again to go to the WE Summit in Greenville, South Carolina.
I’ll be speaking there about 2 topics… your pricing… and also what to do when you are booked.
I’m super excited about the fun things coming up!
Speaking of the WE Summit, be watching for some of my fellow speakers as part of the collaborating I just mentioned!
For the next few episodes of The Wedding Pro Show, we have a stellar all star lineup of guest hosts booked for you!
They will each be coming on, in my place.
They will be doing the same style of short, value packed episodes that you have come to expect.
They’re all super excited, I personally can’t wait to listen in with you.
From the time I started planning the podcast, I’ve wanted to do this unusual type of collaboration, in a sort of takeover type format.
I’ll still be around, you’ll still see me around on Instagram, in The Wedding Vendors Community group on Facebook, and in our weekly trainings if you’re a member of The Vendors Circle membership.
As you know, I absolutely love networking, and this is a perfect example of it.
I want to challenge you to look for ways you can also do some collaborations.
Let’s discuss some of the ways you can do it in the daily operations of your wedding business.
1. Refer an industry friend.
2. Share each other’s social media posts.
3. Introduce yourself when you see them and work with them at the same weddings.
I can’t tell you how many weddings, the huge majority of them, where not one vendor came to me and introduced themselves.
Even as the venue. I may have been 1000% impressed with them, the way they conducted themselves, the product or service they offered, everything, and they never introduced themselves to me.
I could have, and would have, been referring them to my future clients, and it was a completely missed opportunity.
Even when I’ve caught up with them at a wedding (and I know, we’re all busy doing our job so it can be crazy), and introduced myself to them, more often than not they didn’t introduce themselves back to me. And often when they did, they still didn’t give me their info.
Pro tip from a venue owner, leave them with your info, then follow up.
It doesn’t matter what type of vendor you are, my son in law is a DJ and he still g oes around to each vendor at the wedding, introduces himself, gets everyone’s info, and makes sure they’re taken care of.
Okay I’m getting off my soap box on that one.
Actually one more thing on that note, make sure you do at least one social media post after the event, and tag each of the other wedding pros you met at that event.
Okay now I’m done. Lol
Here’s your hot tip to wrap this up with a bow….
Look for ways you can collaborate with other wedding professionals, like we’re doing in the upcoming episodes with guest hosts.
Listen in to these episodes where we’re shaking it up a little, I can’t wait to hear what you think!
