It’s a major buzzword in business right now, and for good reason.

Being consistent is so important in your business, and in your life too for that matter!

Let’s talk about it.

Here’s the definition of consistency: harmony of conduct or practice, firmness of constitution or character, persistence, even dependability and integrity!

I mean, come on! Who doesn’t want to book with someone with those characteristics!

Now let’s talk about showing consistency.

You can show consistency by having a cohesive brand. Your brand consists of consistent colors, fonts, overall vibe, your copy and messaging, and…. get ready for it… even your consistency is part of your brand! How meta is that!

You can really show consistency on social media.

Did you know that your engagement on social media is directly related to your consistency?

Whether you post once a week, once a day, or 4 times of day, try to stick with something you can stay consistent with.

Do you blog? Do you have the capacity to release a blog post every week?

No? Then try releasing one every 2 weeks, or once a month, just be consistent.

Use this podcast for an exampl e.

When I first started this podcast, it was 3 times a week. I really wanted to put out a lot of value and a lot of content, to get the podcast established more quickly.

After a few months, we decided it was time to go to twice a week. We announced the change and we’re consistent with it.

And PS, I LOVE podcasting! I love hearing from you, I love the value you get from it, I love the relationships it has allowed me to make through it. It’s so much fun!

Consistency allows us to test things in our businesses. When you’re consistent with everything, you can change one variable and get measurable results.

Let’s use this podcast for another example. When we made the decision to go to twice a week, we tested it. We actually get more downloads by producing two episodes per week than three.

Why? Because people like you are busy, and you are more able to consume 2 episodes per week, than three. I never ever ever want to overwhelm anyone, so it’s something we really gave a lot of attention to about making the change.

Hot tip: Try changing up one thing that you do consistently, and see if it gives you different results. If those results are better, make the change.

Being consistent doesn’t mean you’re rigid and can’t ever change, it just means you’re trustworthy, and I know for sure that’s a message you want to send to your clients… your future, present, and even past ones.
