Episode 56: How to Find Out if Your Marketing Efforts Are Working
How to find out if your marketing efforts are working.

It’s one of the most overlooked parts of our marketing systems as wedding professionals.
We work really hard on our efforts on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Etsy, Google, we run ads, we network, we nurture our relationships with our couples and other vendors…
Yet sometimes we have no idea where our couple who books found us!
It can be uncomfortable to talk about business, when everyone really just wants to talk about the big day and their relationships.
We’ve talked about this before when it comes to pricing and asking for the sale.
This is no different.
If you’re already asking, and you’re comfortable, good for you! We’ll talk about how you can take it a step further in just a minute.
If you’re not, let’s talk about some ways to do it.
1. You can come right out on every contact and ask them how they found you. I know you’re already worried about being ghosted, you may not be looking for another reason to blame yourself when it happens. This likely isn’t going to affect if the couples responds back to you or not, but it can be intimidating for you, especially if you’re already a little nervous about it.
2. You can ask on their questionnaire they’re filling out when they’re booking. When they’re already filling out the form, it can be another question. This might be the most comfortable for you if you don’t like to ask.
3. You can follow up with them after the wedding. You’re doing that already to ask for a review, right? If you never asked how they found you before, this is a great last way to try. Keep in mind they might not remember at this point.
Hot tip: Keep it simple. Here’s how you ask, “Do you mind if I ask how you found us?” Literally it’s as easy as that.
Now take the opportunity to ask someone today, let me know how it goes!
Make a simple spreadsheet or google doc to keep track of what you hear. If you ask and never keep track of it, what’s the point?
It won’t be long until you know where your best efforts are paying off for you, and you can decide to invest more into those, or let those keep doing their job and add another approach to your systems.
