Episode 44: How (and Why) to Maximize Your Amazing Reviews
This episode’s review was on Apple Podcasts. It reads, "Lots of info in short bursts. Michelle has a clear, easy to listen to voice and she knows her stuff! I love the quick tip format. No wasting time, just quick great tips."
We appreciate your reviews so much!
Why is it beneficial to maximize your reviews (we're going to talk about how to do it in a minute...)
1. Social proof is huge! Think about when you read reviews on Amazon, hotels, anything! It's proof that you have experience and that you are trustworthy.
2. It creates FOMO and makes you who couples want to book for their wedding.
3. It helps make vendor connections and is a great way to get on preferred vendor lists. It's actually one of our strategies to get started getting on them.
4. We work hard to get these reviews, don't just leave them hanging out where they were left. It's so easy to forget about them. Couples will find them, but why make them dig around for them, right? Let's get to the how!
How to showcase your reviews on social media:
1. Take advantage of the pin feature on Facebook. After you do a post about your review, pin the post to the top of your page. It will be the first thing new visitors see when they go to your page.
Similarly, if you have a Facebook Group, the feature is "Mark as an Announcement".
2. When you make a post of a review on Instagram, save it to your Highlights. Same situation as the pin or announcement feature on Facebook.
3. Make them into graphics using Canva or something similar. I personally love Canva. They have templates for reviews and testimonials, you should also use screenshots from the platform their were left on, but you can even make the screenshot pretty in Canva. Just consider if you want to show their name or omit it, only you will know the right way, but in doubt, leave it out.
4. Make it part of your posting rotation. Use content pillars. Reviews are a good pillar to have. If you're in my membership, The Vendors Circle, you know about content pillars. It's 6-9 different topics that you consistently post about.
Our hot tip is all about how to keep track of all of your reviews in one central, easy to access, location. Listen to the podcast for the explanation.
