The Wedding Pro Show
Episode 41: Slay the Day!
RJ on our team was wearing a "Slay the Day" mask one day on a video call, he inspired this episode.
Our featured review for this episode was left by another member of The Vendors Circle membership, Stephanie Sparrow of S.A.N.D Events and Gifts. She says, "The Wedding Pro Show is amazing and very informational. The host is always wanting to help other wedding professionals with development and guide them."
Thank you for your kind words, Stephanie!
These are my favorite ways to create time in my day, pick one or two to try out!
Get up at least 15 minutes sooner than you do now. Do it tomorrow, it's awesome.
I personally need around 2 hours to myself in the morning. Here's what I do, everyone's schedule is different of course! My husband and I are empty nesters, so my schedule is much easier than someone with small children. I've done this from when our daughter was pretty small but I wish I would have started sooner. Getting Mom her good headspace before anyone else gets up is life changing!
(I need time for my devotion, I Marco Polo with a friend, clear my head space.). My husband gets up around 7:30am. We hang out and catch up, map out the day. We're ready to take it on by 9am. By 9am we typically are needing to start communicating with people. Notifications are coming in, etc. We work together full time so he's in and out all of the time, schedule starts getting less dependable throughout the day. Then we do dinner, evening, and I like to go to bed early.
Train yourself to wake up without an alarm. It can be done! It sounds weird, but I tell myself when I'm going to sleep when I need to get up, and I do. I've been doing that forever so it works. Plus I hate being woken up so that's a plus too. By all means try not to hit snooze!
When you have a lot of tasks to do and feel like you don't have time, set a timer. Literally set it for 10 minutes, you'll find yourself so much more focused and you'll get a ton more done than you think. I start with a "brain dump" for 10 minutes, into a notebook, then go from there. I LOVE journaling. Someday I'll design my own, for now I'll settle for something blank from TJ Maxx. Lol
Designate a break time, I try for 2pm - 3pm but it doesn't always happen.
Handle things as them come.
We talk about this a lot in my membership, The Vendors Circle, we have very effective systems in place that keep you and your business running efficiently. Check it out at www.bridepath.com/yes.
Hot tip: At the end of the day, whatever that is to you, map out the next day so you don't have to think about what to start on when you get going in the morning. Whether you work from home or go to work somewhere, this works.
