The Wedding Pro Show
Episode 37: Want to Start Your Own Facebook Group?
I always love reading reviews, don’t you!?
I also love getting them, don’t we all, especially here in the wedding industry, but I also love giving shoutouts to my fellow wedding pros, so I thought this would be a fun thing to start doing.
I’m going to start doing this on a regular basis, so go ahead and leave your review and I’ll give you a shoutout too!
This one happens to be from one of my amazing members of The Vendors Circle.
I’m going to do my best to get through it without crying. I dreamed about having this podcast for so long, and I absolutely love it. It goes to a whole new level for me when I see reviews like this.
It’s by Amy at Humble Hall. Humble Hall is an absolutely stunning new venue in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. Definitely check it out and connect with her if you’re in that area too.
It reads: "Love this podcast because it’s short and to the point. Filled with so much useful information. Veteran in the industry helping others succeed!"
It seriously melts my heart to help you succeed. It’s always been my goal and always will be. I do my best to keep the solo episodes to 5 minutes, so let’s dive in.
Have you ever considered opening your own FB Group?
Maybe you already have one.
There are a lot of benefits to it, but only under these conditions...
You already enjoy Facebook
You don’t feel overwhelmed by your existing FB business page
You believe your ideal client is on FB (hint: they likely are)
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk benefits...
Your page is like a billboard, your group is a community. If you have a heart to help and serve your couples, a group can be a great platform for that.
While your Facebook page is a great place for your ideal client to start learning to know, like, and trust you, the community aspect deepens that relationship.
It creates an amazing environment for referrals. As your group members go through their planning process, and through their wedding day, they’ll love staying and helping other members get through theirs. Because you’ve been serving them well, even whether they book with you or not, they know you and what you do and they’ll naturally refer you.
The FB algorithm favors groups over pages. Just think about your feed. If you’re in FB groups, be watching your feed to see what shows up more often, pages or groups. This doesn’t mean pages aren’t important or serve a purpose, it just means your group members have a better chance of seeing your amazing content.
It’s totally free and you can make it whatever type of environment you want it to be. When I started mine, I set it up as a space that is encouraging and uplifting, and one of the things I have my members agree to when they join is that they have a heart to serve their couples. And that’s what it is. I’m so proud of it. If you’d like to be a part of it, and it’s the most amazing group of wedding pros on FB, probably in the world, head over to Facebook and join it. It’s called The Wedding Vendors Community and we all really do love it so much. It’s a great place to network and build each other up.
I hope you consider this as something you do for your business in the future. You can do a group based on a specific topic or location. If you haven’t fo und a group you love in your geographic area (and your business is local), that’s a great sign of a need that can be filled.
Hot tip: Another advantage of groups is that they can be set to private. That means your members are more willing to open up and have real conversations that you can really help them with, without feeling like Aunt Sally could see it.
It’s a really great way to get leads into your wedding business, and is actually one of the ideas we give you in our free resource all about creative ways to get leads into your wedding business.
